IS THIS THE SNOWBOARD/Freeski TEAM?
No, while the snowboard team and freeski team take a more competitive approach to the sport, Boulder Freeride focuses more on the social aspect of the ski/snowboard lifestyle, while still providing members with everything they need to have an epic season. Many of CUST and Freeski’s members are also members of Boulder Freeride (which is perfectly awesome) as both organizations have something very different to offer. We love to work with the other ski and board organizations at CU to throw awesome events and have lots of fun on the mountain.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
We will be hosting meetings on campus throughout the year, so come find us and get the scoop!
Check our instagram for locations on these meetings.
DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO THE MOUNTAINS?
For our trips, we organize rides to and from the mountain with some members signing up as drivers and some as passengers. We do not directly provide transportation to the mountains, but we try our hardest to make sure that everyone who wants a ride gets a ride. We have a group chat for all members to coordinate rides to the mountains. Ask a director for more info! We encourage our members to fill up their cars with as many kids as they can fit so you can all make friends and ride together!
I’M JUST A BEGINNER… CAN I STILL JOIN?
Of course. Even if you’ve never set foot on the mountain, we want you to join. We’ll hook you up with someone to teach you, take you up, and entertain you. We want everyone to have a good time, whether you ride or not! Want more info about what we offer to beginners? Come into our office or contact us through social media or email and we will give you info on all the benefits we have for people just getting onto the mountain for the first time. Don’t hesitate, we love beginners!
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED WORKING WITH THE CLUB?
The club is run by a board of directors, 12-18 CU students who love the sport, are ambitious and creative, and have a great passion to see the club succeed. Each year we elect new members to the board towards the end of September. If this sounds like something you’d like to do, check-in with us at the beginning of each year for an application.
We are starting a new program to get more people of our super talented members involved with the club, reach out and we can give you more info :).
WHY SHOULD I GET A 5-YEAR MEMBERSHIP?
Many CU students, we have come to find, end up sticking around Colorado longer than planned. We offer a 5-year membership as opposed to a 4-year so that those who have taken a semester (or two..or three…) off can still get all the benefits of being a member.
What pass should I get?
Epic or Ikon! We do trips to mountains for both passes, so you can’t go wrong with either one. If you’re torn on which one to get, we recommend going with the Ikon pass, as we offer an awesome deal for students to get a great exclusive club discount. Check out the Ikon page for more info.
